§ 10-1. Mosquito prevention—Screening cisterns, etc.

  • It shall be unlawful to set up, have, keep, or maintain on any premises in the parish any cistern, tank, or well that is not screened with wire mesh not coarser than 18 wires to the inch both ways, provided that inlets and outlets of such cisterns, tanks, or wells may be screened in any manner or with any material approved by the board of health, that will thoroughly prevent the ingress or egress of mosquitoes to and from the water therein contained; provided, however, no water seal shall be used in screening any such inlets or outlets.
