§ 15-137. Adoption and amendments.

  • (a)

    No airport zoning regulations shall be adopted, amended, or changed under this article except by action of the parish council, after a public hearing in relation thereto, at which parties of interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard. Thirty days' notice of the hearing date, time, and place shall be published in the official journal of the parish.

    (b)

    Such airport zoning regulations adopted by the parish council after such public hearing is held shall have the consent and approval of the state department of transportation and development, as provided for in the Louisiana Revised Statutes 2:139 of 1936. Any changes or amendments to the Harry P. Williams Memorial Airport Hazard Zoning Ordinance shall have the consent and approval of the state department of transportation and development prior to adoption by the council.
