§ 19-56. Proceeds of tax to be used by commission.

  • The proceeds of the tax so levied, less $100.00 monthly or five percent of the tax collected monthly, whichever is greater, to be retained by the governing authority of the parish as a collection fee, shall be appropriated by the governing authority to the commission and shall be used by the commission for the purposes of attracting conventions and tourists into the jurisdiction of the commission. The commission shall have authority to spend money for advertising, promotion, and publication of information. The commission shall annually adopt and submit to the council a budget of receipts and expenditures.
