Article V. DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT |
§ 2-92. Functions and responsibilities.
The functions and responsibilities of the department of economic development shall be to:
(1)
Administer, develop, manage, implement and promote industrial development, community development and business development programs serving the interests and welfare of the people of the parish.
(2)
Develop, coordinate and maintain statistics and information related to population, employment and trends thereon.
(3)
Initiate economic development policy recommendations for the St. Mary Parish Council.
(4)
Serve as a liaison between the parish council and administration, and to maintain liaison with all parish municipalities, all parish ports and chambers of commerce and the sovereign nation of the Chitimachas.
(5)
Maintain liaison with individual members of the business and industrial communities of the parish.
(6)
Provide necessary personnel with the consent and direction of the chief administrative officer to accomplish its purpose.
(7)
Perform such other duties as may be directed by the chief administrative officer.
