§ 4-6. Cruelty.

  • No person shall poison or ill treat an animal, nor may an animal be abandoned. No person shall unnecessarily or cruelly beat, mutilate, kill, torture, or abuse an animal or cause same to be cruelly beaten, mutilated, killed, tortured or abused. Such person shall be subject to the maximum penalties provided by this chapter.
