§ 2-10. Clerk of the council.

    The council shall appoint a clerk of the council who shall serve at the pleasure of the council and shall be supervised by the chairman of the council. The clerk shall give notice of council meetings to its members and the public, keep the journal of its proceedings, be official secretary of the council, and perform such other duties as are assigned to the position by this Charter or by the council.

    B.

    The council shall, by ordinance, fix the salary of the clerk, except that the salary shall be comparable to secretarial salaries in the executive branch.
