§ 17-62. Spills, accidents; violation of permit.

  • In the event of a spill, accident, or violation of a permit, the owner, operator, or an agent or employee of either shall immediately notify the parish council verbally, by telephone call or in person, of such spill, accident, or violation of the permit. Such verbal notification, in any event, shall be made not more than eight hours after such occurrence. Verbal notification shall be followed by written notification to the parish council within three days of the occurrence. If notification is made as provided in this section, such notification shall be considered in mitigation of any damages assessed against the person operating the facility.
