§ 20-30. Mobility impaired parking designation.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle for any period of time in any parking zone designated specifically for the mobility impaired unless such person has a vehicle which is identified by a license plate or parking card for the mobility impaired which contains the word "handicapped" embossed on the license plate or parking card or otherwise, in accordance with state law, contains the requisite symbol for designating a mobility impaired vehicle.

    (b)

    Any person who violates the provisions of this section shall be fined not more than $275.00. In addition to such fine, the offender shall be required to pay all court costs plus all towing fees and storage costs, if any.

    (c)

    In addition to the fines, fees and costs provided in subsection 20-30(b), any person who violates the provisions of this section shall also be fined an additional $25.00, which shall be used by the parish to fund the parish sheriff's quad squad program.
