§ 2-121. Exemptions.

  • (a)

    Hospitals operated by hospital service districts that are currently members of group purchasing organizations are exempt from the provisions of sections 2-116(a), (b), and (c)(2) for purchases made through the group purchasing organizations.

    (b)

    Purchases made pursuant to:

    (1)

    State purchasing contracts or

    (2)

    From federal general services administration supply schedules are exempt from the provisions of sections 2-116(a), (b), and (c)(2).

    (c)

    Public entities which have a purchasing system, which meets the minimum standards of this division, as set out in section 6-122, shall be exempt from the provisions of this division that require utilization of the purchasing agent of the parish council.

    Public entities which have a purchasing system that meet the minimum standards of this division may nevertheless utilize the parish purchasing agent for their purchasing needs.

    Any public entity which uses the parish purchasing agent for its purchases shall be required to reimburse the parish council for its direct costs to include such items as publication expenses, copying expenses, postage, etc. in assisting the public entity in complying with these purchasing standards.
